In the third quarter of 2021, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform in Ghana saw varying trends in their weekly downloads and active users. Data from Sensor Tower reveals detailed insights into the performance of these popular applications.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a significant variation in weekly downloads, starting at around 54K at the beginning of the quarter and witnessing a dip to approximately 19K in late July. However, the app bounced back, closing the quarter with nearly 38K downloads in the final week of September. Active user trends for the app were relatively stable, hovering around the 650K mark, with a notable peak at 735K in the week of September 20.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, fluctuating between 5.1K and 6.3K. The app's active users saw a slight decline, starting from 298K at the beginning of the quarter and tapering off to approximately 279K by the end of September.

Yango — different from a taxi witnessed a gradual increase in weekly downloads, beginning at around 2.8K and ending the quarter on a high note with about 6.9K downloads. The app's active user base also saw a positive trend, growing from approximately 24K to nearly 27K by the end of September.

inDrive. Save on city rides showed an initial surge in downloads, with a peak of about 4.7K in late July. However, the numbers dropped sharply, with minimal downloads recorded towards the end of the quarter. The active user count followed a similar pattern, starting at around 2.2K and peaking at 7.5K in late July, before declining to approximately 4.4K by the end of September.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver revealed a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 700 and ending the quarter with approximately 1.6K downloads. The active user base remained stable throughout the quarter, ranging between 13K and 15K.
